Kelly Donithan MCM’12 accepted a position with Animals Asia as a Bear Manager at their Vietnam Bear Rescue Centre in Tam Dao where she will be working with rescued Asiatic black bears and Malayan sun bears. She held a previous position as a Wildlife Rescue Program Officer at the International Fund for Animal Welfare‘s (IFAW) international headquarters in Yarmouth Port, MA. Her work with IFAW managing the animal rescue portion of the U.S. Big Cats campaign was chronicled in article, “Rescuing Backyard Tigers” http://now.tufts.edu/articles/rescuing-backyard-tigers. Kelly is an Arizona native and received a BS in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from the University of Arizona. She decided to apply to the MCM Program because, “I liked the integrated approach to conservation issues and found the program ideals progressive and very directed as opposed to traditional masters programs. I also felt it provided an opportunity to advance my education in a clear and accelerated way that allowed me to return quickly to the working field and continue my career.”
